Islamabad, 14 May, 2025: Faisalabad hosted the second phase of the CM Punjab Laptop Program and Honhar Scholarship distribution ceremony on Wednesday, with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif attending the event at Government College University.

As part of the Laptop Program initiative, 5,928 students across Faisalabad Division are being provided with Core i7, 13th generation laptops featuring licensed Windows software.

In addition, 4,075 students are set to receive scholarship cheques under Phase II of the Honhar Scholarship Program.

According to official details, Rs10 million in scholarships will be awarded to students in the region, including Rs6.7 million for 2,462 university students and Rs400,000 for 82 students enrolled in medical colleges.

The college sector will receive Rs2.9 million in scholarships for 1,531 students. A total of 4,224 university students, 318 medical students, and 1,385 college students will benefit from the laptop distribution.

The program, directed by Chief Minister Nawaz, targets students from the third to eighth semester and has raised the scholarship amount from Rs30,000 to Rs50,000.

Over 153,000 applications have been received, with more than 130,000 verified. Students from Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also included in the scheme.
