Islamabad, Apr 30, 2025: On Tuesday, Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz unveiled the Maryam Nawaz Ration Card Program, a new initiative designed to provide relief to over 1.25 million worker families across the province.
During the launch event at the Expo Centre in Lahore, CM Maryam emphasized that the program is not about charity but about empowering hard-working individuals. “This program is meant for those who labor tirelessly for 12 to 14 hours daily.
They deserve respect, not alms,” she said. Eligible workers will benefit from a monthly subsidy of Rs. 3,000 through a digital ration card. Additionally, CM Maryam announced plans to build 1,220 homes for the working class.
The ceremony was attended by senior provincial leaders, including Maryam Aurangzeb and Uzma Bukhari.
CM Maryam toured the event’s stalls, where she was briefed on how the program operates.
