Islamabad, June 11, 2025: The current administration has resolved to significantly broaden the scope of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in the upcoming financial year’s budget.

As per sources, a recommendation has been tabled to enhance the programme’s funding by 21 percent, setting aside Rs716 billion for this purpose.

With this expansion, the Kafalat Programme is expected to cover 10 million deserving families, enabling more low-income households to benefit from direct financial aid.

Moreover, the Educational Stipends Programme will also witness a boost, aiming to support 12 million school-going children through educational grants under the revised scheme.
