Islamabad, June 17, 2025: Pakistan is anticipated to witness its initial spell of monsoon rainfall beginning June 25, 2025, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Anjum Nazir, Deputy Director at the PMD, mentioned that the monsoon rain cycle will persist till July 2. He elaborated that Karachi is currently undergoing intense heat due to diminished atmospheric pressure over the Arabian Sea, with “real feel” temperatures possibly touching 50°C.
“Weatherly conditions are expected to improve by tomorrow evening with the full restoration of sea breezes”, he noted. Starting June 19, overcast conditions and light showers during the morning and evening are also expected in the port city.

In other parts of the Pakistan, scorching and dry conditions are predicted for the majority of regions in the upcoming 12 hours. However, isolated areas in Northeast Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and areas in Southeast and Eastern Sindh may encounter dust storms, thunderclouds, or rainfall.

- Islamabad: 25°C
- Lahore: 29°C
- Karachi: 31°C
- Peshawar: 26°C
- Quetta: 22°C
- Gilgit and Muzaffarabad: 20°C
- Murree: 18°C
According to the weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy weather with chances of rain and thunderstorm is expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramula.
