Islamabad, Feb 18: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall and snowfall in several regions of the country, including Balochistan and northern areas, on February 18th and 19th, 2025.
On February 18th, Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Chagai, Nushki, Harnai, Zhob, and Musakhel will experience rain and thunderstorms, with snowfall expected in the higher altitude areas. This weather is due to a frontal system making its way into the northern regions of the country, which will continue to affect these areas until February 21st.
From February 19th to 21st, moderate to heavy rainfall, along with snow in some areas, is anticipated in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also experience similar conditions, with rain and snow affecting hill stations such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bunner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Waziristan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, and Kohat. These conditions are expected to persist on February 19th and 20th.

Murree and the Galliyat region are also set to receive rainfall and snow from February 19th to 21st. Meanwhile, in the plains of Punjab, areas like Islamabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, and Toba Tek Singh will see rainfall between February 19th and 20th. In contrast, lighter rain is expected in the southern parts of Punjab, including Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Taunsa Sharif, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Okara, and Bahawalnagar on February 19th.
Sindh will experience dry weather throughout this period, although gusty winds will affect the coastal areas. Karachi may see temperatures rise to 32°C, with a possibility of light drizzle or rain on the city’s outskirts today.
