Islamabad, Oct 14: Metro Bus Service Suspended for SCO Summit in Islamabad
District authorities have announced that the Metro Bus service between Rawalpindi and Islamabad will be temporarily suspended from October 14 to October 17 in order to accommodate the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting.
Several member nations’ prime ministers and other high-ranking officials are expected to attend the SCO conference, which is set for October 15 and 16 in Islamabad. Top representatives from China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will be present, according to Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch. The foreign minister of India and the first vice president of Iran will also attend the meeting.
It is anticipated that Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, will hold individual conversations with the heads of delegations that are visiting. Important subjects including trade, economic cooperation, environmental concerns, and fostering stronger social and cultural ties amongst member states will all be discussed during these discussions.
