Islamabad, June 4, 2025: Microsoft is once again updating its Bing search engine, this time by introducing an artificial intelligence-based video tool called Bing Video Creator.
The feature, powered by OpenAI’s Sora, lets users turn written prompts into short video clips. The tool has already been rolled out on Bing’s mobile app and will soon be added to the desktop version and Copilot Search.
This addition aligns with Microsoft’s broader strategy, which has seen the company invest heavily, reportedly billions of dollars into OpenAI’s research and development efforts. Following its earlier integration of DALL-E, an AI image generator, into Bing in 2023, the latest inclusion of a video function follows naturally.

However, Sora’s introduction has not been without issues. YouTube’s CEO previously expressed serious concerns about the use of its platform’s video archive for training AI tools like Sora. The model also drew criticism and sparked backlash from some of the individuals involved in its initial testing phase.

Sora was eventually released publicly late last year. It now faces stiff competition from other major players, including Google’s Veo 3, which offers more advanced features. Still, OpenAI is expected to roll out improvements to Sora in the near future, though no specific date has been announced.
