Islamabad, July 8, 2025: The Ministry of Finance has approved a new special relief allowance for armed forces officers, JCOs, soldiers, and equivalent staff, in a notification issued on July 4, 2025.
As per the official notification, a 50% special allowance will be granted to army officials and a 20% increment to military soldiers will be given on the running basic pay as of June 30, 2025. According to the ministry of finance, this increment was made to address longstanding differences in defence-sector wages.
This notification will be taken into effect from July 1, 2025.

The notification clearly states that this allowance will follow the same terms and conditions that apply to similar allowances already given by the federal government.
The Ministry of Defence will provide the required funds from its own approved budget for the current financial year, after completing all official formalities.
