Islamabad, Apr 5. 2025: In a recent update, the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) confirmed that a minor earthquake was recorded in the Arabian Gulf early this morning, approximately 55 kilometers east of Jubail.
The tremor measured 4.0 on the Richter scale and was detected by the National Seismic Monitoring Network stations operated by the SGS.
According to experts, the earthquake is attributed to stress accumulation along ancient fault lines in the Arabian Gulf, resulting from the natural tectonic movements of the Arabian Plate as it interacts with the Eurasian Plate.

Despite the occurrence, officials have confirmed that the earthquake did not affect Saudi land or infrastructure.
The situation remains completely safe, and no damage or injuries have been reported.
Although, Jubail Authorities assured the public that there is no cause for concern, and the region continues to be closely monitored.
However, The Geological Survey confirmed that Saudi territory was not affected, and that the situation remains safe.
