Islamabad – August 13, 2025: Mobile phone services have been partially suspended in several sectors of the capital city, including G-6, G-7, G-8, and parts of the H sectors, due to security measures ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.
According to sources, the Ministry of Interior directed the suspension to ensure security during the main Independence Day ceremony. The central event is scheduled to take place in the morning at Parade Ground, with top government officials, dignitaries, and invited guests expected to attend.

The mobile network disruption is part of standard security protocols implemented during high-profile national events to prevent any untoward incidents. Authorities have confirmed that services will remain suspended in the affected areas until the conclusion of the ceremony.
Citizens in the impacted sectors have reported difficulties in making calls and accessing mobile data. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is expected to restore services once the event concludes and the security situation is deemed clear.
