Lahore police have filed a case against a female model and photographer for filming a video inside the historic Wazir Khan Mosque without prior permission.
The FIR was registered at Akbari Gate Police Station on the complaint of Mohammad Awais, an official of the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA). He alleged that model Azbia Khan and photographer Zain Shah violated the sanctity of the mosque by recording the clip in what he described as an “inappropriate dress.”
According to the complainant, the video was shot about four days ago and later uploaded on social media. He further said the act not only disrespected the mosque but also caused reputational harm to the department.

This is not the first such case at Wazir Khan Mosque. In August 2020, police registered a case against actor Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed after their music video shoot at the mosque sparked criticism. Following that incident, the Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department banned the filming of dramas and movies in mosques and shrines.
The latest case once again highlights ongoing concerns over the misuse of religious sites for commercial or entertainment purposes.
