Islamabad, Oct 19: Mohammad Amir Defends Babar Azam Against Backlash Amid Growing Criticism

Following Pakistan’s test victory over England in Multan, fast bowler Mohammad Amir of Pakistan has stepped up to support former captain Babar Azam.

After Pakistan’s victory, internet trolls turned Babar into a laughingstock and a source of jokes, linking his absence from the team to Pakistan’s victory. The 30-year-old has been the subject of intense scrutiny due to his recent bat-related mishaps.

The criticism of Babar only intensified when Pakistan stopped a protracted losing streak of home games.

Babar gained an odd ally in Mohammad Amir, who urged the public to abandon this guttural narrative amid the mounting reaction.

“Guys, please stop this nonsense about how the team won because Babar wasn’t there or that player wasn’t there,” Amir posted (translated) on X, the previous Twitter platform.

We took advantage of playing at home, performed better, and prevailed. Instead of making it personal against the players, let’s concentrate on their performance.

Yar pls yeah ghatia soch khatam karo k babar team me ni tha ya woh player ni tha to team jeet gayi .hum better planning k sath khaile home advantage liya or jeet gaye. pls personal na hn apne player’s k sath yes performance base ap bat Karen but pls personal na hn.

In his tweet, Amir most likely made reference to writer Shoaib Jatt. Shoaib has long been a critic of Babar and was quick to point out that Pakistan won because the batter wasn’t there.

DO U KNOW???
In 1349 days, it was very 1st time 👑 wasn’t in Team 🇵🇰.

Amir was wise to point out that Pakistan finally delivered a pitch that suited its spinners as the reason for the win.

Babar was left off the national squad for the remainder of the England series, but he should be called up again for the team that is touring Australia.
