Mohammad Rizwan the wicketkeeper batter of Pakistan has reportedly chosen not to sign his central contract for the 2025 to 2026 season with the Pakistan Cricket Board. He is the only player among the listed squad members who has not signed the agreement yet. The situation has created discussions among cricket fans and analysts. The main point of disagreement is that Rizwan was placed in Category B instead of Category A. He believes that his performance and role for Pakistan deserve the highest contract category. Because of this he has asked the board to give a clear explanation before he signs.
This issue is not only about the contract amount. It is also about recognition and respect for his contributions in the team. Central contracts decide salary benefits and official status of players. When a senior and consistent performer like Rizwan shows hesitation it signals possible communication gaps between players and the board. The situation also comes at a time when captaincy roles and team leadership have already seen changes which makes this matter more sensitive.

Reports suggest that Rizwan may sign the contract if the PCB discusses the matter openly and explains the basis for the contract categories. If the board does not review the situation the matter could become more serious in the coming days. For now Rizwan is still available for national selection and is continuing with regular training and cricket commitments.
