Islamabad, Nov 21: On Thursday, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Hamish Falconer, the UK’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Pakistan and Afghanistan, in Islamabad to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and exploring areas of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by British High Commissioner Jane Marriott and Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Muhammad Faisal.
The discussions focused on fostering deeper collaboration and implementing joint initiatives to enhance Pak-UK relations.
Minister Naqvi extended warm greetings to Falconer and reiterated his commitment to further strengthening the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
He emphasized the importance of transitioning from cooperation to a sustainable economic partnership, highlighting the UK as a “strong and excellent friend of Pakistan.”
The leaders also stressed the need for increased bilateral and regional synergy in addressing contemporary challenges.
Naqvi emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding the rights and safety of minority communities, making their protection a top priority.
Additionally, he underscored the importance of coordinated efforts to combat misinformation and propaganda on social media platforms.
Falconer’s visit is expected to strengthen Pak-UK relations and open avenues for enhanced cooperation across various sectors.
