Islamabad, Nov 14: Mohsin Naqvi Holds Talks with Hungarian Counterpart Sàndor Pintèr in Budapest. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held discussions with Hungary’s Interior Minister Sàndor Pintèr in Budapest on Thursday, focusing on key areas of mutual interest and collaboration.The Interior Minister expressed gratitude to his Hungarian counterpart for the warm welcome and excellent arrangements provided by the Hungarian Government for the 7th Ministerial Conference of the Budapest Process.
It was agreed to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Hungary in a significant way next year. On behalf of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi extended an invitation for the Hungarian Prime Minister to visit Pakistan in 2025, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
The Interior Minister also invited his Hungarian counterpart to Pakistan, which the Hungarian Interior Minister accepted. Following a suggestion from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, a high-level delegation from Hungary will visit Pakistan to address issues of illegal immigration while promoting legal immigration.
The Hungarian delegation will provide assistance regarding illegal immigration, human trafficking, and NADRA’s CRMS. They will compile a report, and the Hungarian Interior Minister is expected to visit Pakistan to finalize the cooperation terms.
Moreover, they agreed to set up a hotline between the Interior Ministries of Pakistan and Hungary to tackle illegal immigration and related matters. The Hungarian Foreign Minister is also scheduled to visit Pakistan in December this year.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed his support for the Hungarian Foreign Minister’s upcoming visit and emphasized the importance Pakistan places on its relationship with Hungary, noting that delegation exchanges are essential for strengthening bilateral ties. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Hungary, Asif Hussain Memon, along with senior diplomatic officials, were also present during this meeting.
