The Meteorological Department has predicted hot and humid conditions across most of the country, accompanied by eagerly awaited rainfall in several regions.
According to the department, monsoon showers have begun in Sindh, notably in Karachi, and are set to advance to other areas of Pakistan.
Anticipated rainfall includes Kashmir, northeast Punjab, Potohar, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and southeast Sindh. There is also a chance of rain in northeast and south Balochistan, with light showers expected in certain coastal areas of Sindh.
The Meteorological Department has forecast hot and humid weather during the day in Islamabad and its surrounding areas, with partly cloudy skies and occasional nighttime rain.
Dr. Babar, Director of Weather Forecasting, discussed with Samaa TV that monsoon rains have begun in Sindh, particularly Karachi, and are progressing across the country. He warned of heavier-than-normal rainfall expected in July and August, raising concerns about potential flooding in rivers, canals, and urban areas in northeastern and southeastern regions.
Dr. Babar highlighted the likelihood of heavy rain in Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, KP, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, underscoring the importance of preparedness and caution. The Meteorological Department advises residents in vulnerable areas to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions amid the anticipated monsoon season, which promises relief from current weather conditions.
