Islamabad, Aug 21: Low-lying areas have been buried by water accumulation as a result of the monsoon rains, which have caused havoc throughout the nation, especially in the provincial capital of Lahore.
Lakshmi Chowk, the Mall, Jail Road, Baghbanpura, Tajpura, Iqbal Town, Chowburji, and other low-lying areas of Lahore became ponds due to heavy rainfall that fell after midnight on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, early in the morning, reports of light rain came from Barki Road regions and the suburban suburbs of Paragon.
Residents were relieved of the heat and the heavy humidity as a result of the late-night downpour.
Monsoon rains caused catastrophic floods in Balochistan, while Muridke, Kandian, Chashma, and the neighboring districts witnessed torrential rains and strong winds. Rural Khuzdar experienced flooding as a result of heavy rain and thunderstorms that overflowed rivers and streams.
Significant rainfall was also experienced in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, resulting in waterlogging of streets, homes, and low-lying regions. A strong period of rain persisted throughout Sindh, while Karachi experienced sporadic rains. Heavy rainfall in Azad Kashmir caused rivers and streams to flood in Bhimber and Kotli, prompting cautions to the surrounding residents to exercise caution.
