At Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, Capcom and Square Enix unveiled a new crossover event that sees Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy 14 come together in a very special collaboration. Producers Ryozo Tsujimoto of Monster Hunter Wilds and Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) from Final Fantasy 14 offered personal insight into why now is the right time to bring these two great properties together and how the merging of these titles is opening new possibilities of adventure for fans.

Trailers featured Monster Hunter-themed materials to be seen by Final Fantasy 14 players and Final Fantasy-inspired materials to be seen in Monster Hunter Wilds hunters. In Final Fantasy 14, players of Monster Hunter Wilds have access to Chocobo mounts and to the characters Cactuar and Omega-level villainy.

The Final Fantasy 14 players will on the other hand engage in a new mystery hunt with the Monster Hunter Wilds characters. But it can only be accessed after level 100 and completing the Dawntrail main story so that might take new players hundreds of hours.

These updates will come to Monster Hunter Wilds in late September as Free Title Update 3, and to Final Fantasy 14 players in early October. Viewers of both series will enjoy new experiences, new challenges, and collectible items with this new collaboration.
