Islamabad, Aug 20: According to forecasts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Lahore’s current rainy period should last for the next three days.
There is a strong monsoon in Lahore right now, with ominous clouds hanging over the city and rain falling in varied amounts in different places. The most rainfall, 28 mm, was reported in Nishtar Colony on Tuesday.The Meteorological Department reports that Lahore is experiencing heavy rain for the second day in a row.
There has been a lot of rain in several parts of Lahore, including Walton Road, Ferozepur Road, Jail Road, Kalma Chowk, Gulberg, Upper Mall, and Lakshmi Chowk. The rain and strong gusts have relieved the extreme heat and brought a welcome shift in the weather. A large number of people sought cover from the rain as it continued. Many residents were seen seeking shelter beneath the Metro bus track in order to stay dry.
Balochistan has suffered greatly from the monsoon rains, which have also claimed three additional lives in various events during the most recent spell in Quetta. Since July 1, the monsoon has caused 11 injuries and 19 deaths, including seven child deaths, according to the Balochistan PDMA.3,031 people have been impacted by the rains, which have resulted in 307 dwellings suffering partial damage and 126 homes completely destroyed. In addition, standing crops on 102 hectares have been affected, along with 31 kilometers of roads and six bridges that have sustained damage.
