The Punjab Home Department is contemplating a ban on pillion riding on the 9th and 10th of Muharram throughout the province.The Home Department is considering the deployment of Army and Rangers personnel throughout different areas in addition to the possible ban in order to guarantee increased security throughout Muharram.In order to make this easier, the Home
Department has asked district police officers and deputy commissioners for ideas on how Army and Rangers soldiers should be deployed in their areas. The purpose of this action is to improve security protocols and uphold public order throughout the holy days of Muharram.During Ashura days, the Sindh government forbade pimp riding as well.
