Authorities have issued a Murree travel advisory warning tourists to avoid unnecessary trips to the hill station amid forecasts of heavy snowfall.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) rain, thunderstorms and snowfall are expected in Murree, Kotli Sattian and Galiyat, with temperatures likely to drop sharply. Tourists have been advised to avoid leisure travel, check weather updates, and follow winter safety guidelines.
Rescue 1122 teams are on high alert, with snow-clearing machinery, ambulances, and emergency staff deployed at key points. Motorists have been instructed to equip their vehicles with snow chains, keep fuel tanks full, and ensure brakes and heaters are in working condition.
Officials said the advisory aims to prevent road blockages and ensure visitor safety, as similar weather in past winters caused severe disruptions and stranded travelers.
