Islamabad, 16 May, 2025: Victims of Housing Scam in Lahore have finally received long-overdue compensation as the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) began disbursing recovery cheques worth Rs. 1.34 billion.
The initiative is aimed at easing the financial suffering of over 1,400 individuals who were defrauded in the Formanites Housing Society scandal.
The large-scale refund campaign was launched under the direct supervision of NAB Lahore Director General Muhammad Ahtram Dar.
He acknowledged the patience of those affected and noted that the repayments also include profits in addition to the original investments.
The total amount, spread across 1,446 victims of housing scam, is being returned through an organized distribution process.

Officials confirmed that hundreds of cheques were handed out on the first day alone, with staff working extended hours to ensure prompt service.
In a bid to accelerate the disbursement, NAB Lahore announced that its office will remain open over the weekend, allowing cheque collection on both Saturday and Sunday.
The Director General clarified that individuals eligible for compensation need not wait for formal notification from the bureau and may directly approach the office to claim their payments.
This gesture was welcomed by many victims of housing scam, who attended the event and expressed gratitude toward NAB for pursuing justice. Several recipients stated that the reimbursement marked the end of a prolonged financial struggle.

The bureau’s swift action and transparent procedures were widely praised, with senior officials reaffirming NAB’s commitment to holding fraudulent developers accountable.
