Islamabad, May 28, 2025: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to auction six Bahria Town properties in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, on June 12, as part of efforts to recover a defaulted amount linked to Malik Riaz.
As per the official notification, five of the properties are situated in Rawalpindi, while one is located in the federal capital. The proceedings are being carried out under Section 33E of the NAB Ordinance, 1999.
This move comes in the wake of NAB’s intensified inquiry of Bahria Town. Earlier in February, NAB filed a reference against Malik Riaz, former Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, provincial minister Sharjeel Memon, and others in connection with the unauthorized transfer of government land to Bahria Town.
Two additional references were submitted concerning the illegal possession of 4,500 kanals of government land in the Takht Pari forest and New Murree regions of Rawalpindi.

In March, NAB heightened action by sealing several Bahria Town properties across Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, New Murree, and Takht Pari. It also ordered the freezing of hundreds of bank accounts and vehicles associated with the case. Furthermore, a Rawalpindi accountability court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Malik Riaz and his son, Ali Ahmed Malik, in the Takht Pari land reference.
