Islamabad, June 27, 2025: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has shortened the processing period for Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) and brought in significant upgrades to the family registration certificates.

According to an official release, a NADRA spokesperson stated that the standard CNIC delivery time has been cut down to 15 days from the earlier 30-day period. Those opting for the urgent category will now receive their CNICs in 12 days by paying a fee of Rs 1,150, whereas the executive category ensures issuance within just six days for Rs 2,150.

Notably, individuals applying for their CNICs for the first time will obtain them without any charges. To streamline the process further, NADRA has enhanced its non-chip identification cards. These now include text in both Urdu and English, showcasing names and parent details in both languages, along with a QR code to improve digital verification.
