Islamabad, May 22, 2025: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) of Pakistan made a strong mark at the prestigious “ID4Africa 2025” conference held in Ethiopia, where it unveiled cutting-edge identity technologies developed and assembled in Pakistan.
The event witnessed participation from government representatives, development agencies, tech companies, and civil society organizations across the African region.
In a major boost to international collaboration, NADRA, along with its commercial subsidiary NADRA Technologies Limited, signed bilateral agreements with globally renowned Chinese and Turkish companies.
One such agreement was inked with “IraTech,” a leading Chinese biometric technology firm, focusing on biometric hardware solutions. Another agreement was reached with the Turkish company Austria Card to collaborate on secure identity products and joint research initiatives.
Additionally, NADRA plans to work with another Turkish firm on developing next-generation identity technologies.
NADRA’s pavilion showcased a range of innovations, including biometric hardware, dematerialized ID cards, secure personal data wallets, and the Pak-ID mobile application. These exhibits drew significant attention from international delegates.
Distinguished guests including H.E. Berk Baran, Ambassador of Türkiye to Ethiopia, and H.E. Atif Mian, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, graced the event with their presence.

Delegations from Ethiopia, Cameroon, Djibouti, South Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Nigeria, Türkiye, and China visited the NADRA pavilion and exchanged views with the NADRA team.

“ID4Africa” serves as a central platform to promote identity technology across the African continent. NADRA’s participation and global partnerships reinforce Pakistan’s emerging role as a leader in secure identity solutions.
The engagements also signal new opportunities for technological collaboration between Pakistan and various African and international partners.
