Islamabad, Jan 1: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a special B-Form (birth registration certificate) for children over the age of 10, incorporating advanced security features. The new B-Form will include mandatory fingerprints and photographs for the first time, aiming to prevent identity theft and misuse.
Key Points:
- Purpose: This step aims to combat issues like fake identity cards, illegal passports, and human trafficking by enhancing the security of children’s identity information.
- Implementation Date: The new B-Form will be gradually issued starting from January 15.
- Required Documents: To obtain the new B-Form, both the child’s computerized birth certificate and the parent’s computerized identity card are required. A legal guardian or parent must accompany the child to the NADRA center.
- Mandatory for Passport: The updated B-Form, with the child’s photograph and fingerprints, will be a requirement for applying for a new passport.
- Reforms: Future reforms include adding iris scans, photographs, and fingerprints at union councils, alongside the integration of NADRA’s system with provincial Civil Registration Management Systems.
Additionally, NADRA is working on improving services via the Pak ID mobile app and issuing digital IDs to all Pakistani citizens.
