Islamabad, 13 May, 2025: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 is set to resume on May 17, following a brief suspension amid rising regional tensions.
The tournament, which was halted due to national security concerns, will now conclude with its final eight matches between May 17 and 25 in Lahore and Karachi.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the tournament’s return on Tuesday. But it was his choice of words on social media that attracted wider attention.
Writing on platform X (formerly Twitter), Mr Naqvi remarked, “The league is starting again from where it stopped — 6 teams, 0 fear.”

The phrase echoed Pakistan’s recent military claim that it had successfully intercepted and shot down six Indian aerial vehicles during what officials described as an airspace violation earlier this month.
According to Pakistan’s military, the incident, which took place between May 6 and 7, involved the downing of three Rafale jets, a Sukhoi SU-30, a MiG-29, and an Indian drone.
Pakistan reported no loss of its own aircraft during the exchange.
While Indian authorities have not publicly responded to the claims, the statement has stirred debate in both countries.

Observers noted that Mr Naqvi’s post appeared to blend sport with symbolism, using the phrase “6-0” as both a reference to the PSL’s six teams and a nod to the military incident.
The PSL was paused amid the heightened alert, with the PCB citing safety concerns for players and fans.
Now, with the situation reportedly under control, the board is pushing ahead with preparations under enhanced security.
In an official statement, Mr Naqvi expressed hope that the return of cricket would uplift national morale.
He thanked fans for their patience and wished success to all six teams competing in the final stage of the tournament.
