Islamabad, June 20, 2025: A tragic incident in Naran Valley has claimed the lives of three tourists. A glacier collapsed near the popular Sohni Waterfall, hitting the visitors on Friday.

Rescue officials identified the deceased as 35-year-old Tahir, 13-year-old Abu Bakr, and 22-year-old Tayyab. All victims were residents of Lahore.

The glacier broke off unexpectedly. trapping the tourists beneath it. Rescue efforts were launched quickly by the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) and the Rescue 1122 teams. However, the three could not be saved.

Advisor to the Chief Minister on Tourism. Zahid Chanzeb expressed deep sadness. over the loss of lives. He sent his condolences to the grieving families. He also praised the quick response of KDA and Rescue 1122 teams. for managing the disaster. Efforts are now underway to transport the bodies back to Lahore.

In the wake of this incident, the tourism advisor issued a strong warning. He urged visitors to avoid. unstable areas and also advised against taking selfies. In dangerous spots. He stressed the need for. More awareness about safety at tourist locations. “The government is committed to making safety arrangements. at tourist destinations, more effective,” he said. He added, “Enjoy the natural beauty. but always prioritize safety.”

This incident once again highlights the urgent need for tourists to be careful, especially in areas prone to natural hazards.
