Islamabad, Feb 10: After 35 years, the National Horse and Cattle Show made a spectacular comeback at Fortress Stadium, with the event officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The grand occasion was marked by a digital handprint from Maryam Nawaz, who expressed her love for Punjab and hoped for its continued prosperity.
The Prime Minister and Chief Minister were welcomed with a traditional buggy ride, which carried them to the saluting platform. There, horsemen formally requested permission to begin the event, and once granted, the celebrations commenced with vibrant performances.

International tent pegging teams from the United States, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and other countries participated, as well as archery teams from Iran, Turkey, and Tajikistan. The livestock exhibition showcased elite buffalo breeds, dancing camels, and a variety of sheep and goat species. Cultural floats from different regions added color and diversity to the event.
In a stunning display of art, Slovak artists mesmerized the crowd with laser light shows, while a Macedonian band played lively Punjabi music. Folk performances, including a captivating dervish dance and lively drumming, kept the audience entertained.
Adding to the excitement, Atif Aslam’s live performance lit up the atmosphere, and drones illuminated the night sky with national symbols, leaving families and spectators in awe. The Chief Minister received an overwhelming and heartfelt reception from the attendees.
