Islamabad, Jan 23: National Skills University Islamabad (NSU) has successfully achieved candidacy for the prestigious “Committed to Excellence” certificate and badge from the International Self-Assessment Tool for Centers of Vocational Excellence (ISATCOVE). This significant accolade, supported by the European Commission and implemented by the European Training Foundation (ETF), recognizes NSU’s commitment to adhering to global standards in vocational education.
In a recent acknowledgment, NSU’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mukhtar, received a congratulatory note praising the university’s efforts. The letter highlighted the importance of the ISATCOVE self-assessment in fostering a culture of continuous improvement within educational institutions. It read, “Your dedication to the ISATCOVE self-assessment process not only elevates your institution’s vocational excellence but also sets a benchmark for continuous advancement in education standards.”

Although, Initiated in 2023, ISATCOVE has quickly become a cornerstone for raising educational standards globally. By the 2024-25 academic year, the initiative broadened its reach to include an elite group of vocational education providers. This expansion provides a holistic framework that encompasses training, guidance, mentoring, and substantial support in planning, executing, analyzing results, and implementing effective improvement strategies.
During this momentous occasion, VC Dr. Mukhtar extended his gratitude to the faculty, particularly Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad and Ms. Spogmai Shahab, along with the entire NSU team, for their relentless dedication over the past six months. “This recognition is not merely about achieving a milestone; it’s about inspiring our continuous pursuit of excellence and global leadership in vocational education,” he remarked.
However, NSU’s recent achievement under ISATCOVE aligns with its strategy to broaden international collaborations. Being an active member of the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, NSU is at the forefront of promoting innovative practices, sharing valuable knowledge, and enhancing global connectivity in vocational education.
