Islamabad, April 22, 2024 – In its recent Board meeting, the National Vocational and Technical Commission (NAVTTC) under the policy guidelines of the Ministry of Federal Education, approved several new initiatives and expansion of existing programs aimed at promoting vocational and technical education in Pakistan.
Key approvals include:
- Launch of “NAVTTC Summer of Code” – a high-tech IT training program
- Increase in seats for “Skilling Youth of Newly Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” from 500 to 1000, with a project cost of PKR 50 Million and duration of 2 years
- Increase in seats for “She Fixes: Empowering Women through Vocational Training in Pakistan” from 500 to 1000, with a project budget of PKR 100 Million
- Strengthening of AJK-TEVTA and skilling of 1500 AJK youth under the directives of the Prime Minister
- Strengthening of GB-TEVTA and skilling of 1500 GB youth under the directives of the Prime Minister
These initiatives aim to provide high-quality vocational training to youth across Pakistan, with a focus on empowering women and marginalized communities. The expansion of existing programs will enable more individuals to benefit from these initiatives, contributing to the country’s economic growth and development.
