The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has advised people not to travel to Gilgit-Baltistan and other neighbouring regions in the north on the ground of landslides and flash floods and violent monsoon activity. NDMA says that after the occurrence of landslides and floods, key roads are intersected.

Traffic has been suspended in Torghar, Battagram, Shangla and Lower Kohistan areas, whereas some Tatta Pani Road (320 km to 360 km), Gilgit Road (400 km to 420 km), Hunza Road (530 km) and the Karakoram Highway are blocked. Mingora-Swat Road and Jasar Road have also high flood and landslides risks.

Important bridges such as some bridges across Saramo in the Ghanche and Saltoro Bridge in Shyok have been destroyed and with no bypass possible. In Skardu, there is an informal unsafe access toward Baghicha but this has been greatly discouraged by NDMA. Closed AstoreChilim Road and only option left is Deosai. The entry to Ghizer, Nagar, Gojal, Jaglot, Shigar and kharmang is blocked.
