At least 907 people have died and 1,044 others injured in the ongoing monsoon rains and floods across Pakistan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said in its latest report released on Sunday.

Punjab recorded the highest toll, with 223 deaths and 654 injuries. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 502 fatalities and 218 injuries, while Sindh saw 58 deaths and 78 injuries. In Balochistan, 26 people lost their lives and five were injured.

Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 41 deaths and 52 injuries due to heavy rains, flash floods, and landslides. Azad Jammu and Kashmir reported 38 fatalities, while Islamabad saw nine deaths during the current monsoon season.

The NDMA report also noted extensive damage to property and livelihoods, with 6,180 livestock perished and 7,848 houses either partially or completely destroyed.

In addition, the authority has issued a fresh weather alert for South Punjab, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds over the next 24 to 48 hours. The warning covers Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Ahmedpur, Liaqatpur, Zahir Pir, Rajanpur, Khanpur, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, and Sadiqabad.

The alert also highlights the risk of flash floods in hill torrents and possible landslides in vulnerable areas, urging residents and local administrations to remain vigilant.
