Islamabad, Aug 26: For the forthcoming drafts of Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) and Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), Pakistan has selected 80 cricket players, both male and female. 64 more Pakistani cricket players are expected to be selected in the September 1 draft in preparation for the BBL 2024–2025 season.
Notable names including Usama Mir, Zaman Khan, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, and Usama Mir had previously been verified. More prominent players, such as Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah, Shan Masood, Saim Ayub, Usman Qadir, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Umar Akmal, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Haider Ali, and Mohammad Hasnain, are now included in the pool thanks to the most recent list.
Eleven Pakistani cricket players have been selected for the WBBL draft on the women’s side. Important figures such as Tuba Hassan, Aroob Shah, Fatima Sana, Nida Dar, Diana Baig, and Aliya Riaz are included in this. The Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars will play at Perth Stadium on December 15 to kick off the BBL season. The date of the final is set for January 27, 2025.
On October 27, the Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat will play the opening game of the WBBL at Adelaide Oval. December 1st is the scheduled date of the WBBL final.
