Islamabad, July 19, 2025: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has shared details of a new online digital portal designed to help Pakistani pilgrims travel safely. The systemis designed with the purpose to make things easier for both travelers and their families.
All pilgrims and group leaders will now receive special e-cards with QR codes. These cards will store important travel details and can be scanned by families or officials to check the pilgrim’s status. This will help track pilgrims easily and avoid confusion.
In a statement from the ministry on Friday, the minister said that lists of people going to Iran, Iraq, and Syria will be sent ahead of time to the authorities in those countries. This step is being taken to stop false news and misunderstandings during pilgrimages.
He also asked all travel organizers and pilgrims to enter their correct information on the ministry website by August 31, 2025. If details about pilgrims are missing, names may be marked as incomplete.

He also cleared up confusion about a past comment. When he mentioned “40,000” pilgrims, it did not mean people were missing. He explained that many older paper files have not yet been moved to the new online record system.
