The federal government has announced new prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for the next fortnight.
According to a notification issued by the finance division, the price of petrol has been cut by Rs. 5.66 per liter to Rs. 263.02 while the price of high-speed diesel has been cut by Rs. 1.39 per liter to Rs. 275.41.
The price of superior kerosense oil has also been reduced by Rs. 3.26 per liter to Rs. 181.71 while the price of light diesel oil has gone down by Rs. 2.74 per liter to Rs. 162.76. The new prices of all products will be effective from October 16.
At the last fortnightly review of petroleum prices, the price of petrol was increased by Rs. 4.07 per liter while the price of high-speed diesel was hiked by Rs. 4.04 per liter.

It is pertinent to mention here that oil prices have experienced significant volatility in October 2025, driven by global supply concerns and escalating U.S.-China trade tensions.
Brent crude opened the month at approximately $65.35 per barrel but has since declined, reaching a five-month low of $62.18 by October 15.
