Islamabad 22 July: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) will no longer accept the old B forms for a child passport.
Under the new policy, the old B-Form will no longer be accepted when applying for a child’s passport. Parents will now need to obtain the updated Child Registration Certificate (CRC) for this purpose. NADRA officials say this change is meant to ensure that each child has a clear and verified identity, which will strengthen the reliability of national records.
NADRA has also granted legal status to the Family Registration Certificate (FRC). Previously used mostly for record-keeping, the FRC can now be submitted for use in legal matters such as inheritance claims, court cases, and other official proceedings.

The FRC’s format has also been redesigned to reflect different types of family structures in Pakistan. It will now include categories for parents and children, husband and wife with children, and families where a man has more than one wife. Each marriage will be listed separately to provide a more accurate record.
These changes are part of NADRA’s efforts to improve identity management and make family documentation more reliable and legally useful.
