Islamabad, May 14, 2025: TikTok has launched a new option called AI Alive, which lets users turn their still images into short animated videos by entering text descriptions.

This tool is based on ByteDance’s own image-to-video technology and can be found in TikTok’s Story Camera.

How It Works

To use AI Alive, users can go to the Story Camera and choose a picture from their Story Album. A new button labeled “AI Alive” will appear with the usual editing options.

After selecting it, a text box allows users to write what kind of motion or scene they want to create. The system then creates a video that brings the photo to life.

TikTok says AI Alive can create movements such as weather effects, facial expressions, and hand gestures.

For example, a still shot of a sunset can be turned into a short video showing shifting skies, changing colors, and background sounds.

Group photos can also be animated to appear more lively and interactive.

Built-in Safety Features

TikTok has said the new AI tool also includes protective measures to prevent misuse.

All videos made using AI Alive will carry C2PA metadata, a common digital tag that helps identify AI-generated content. This tag will help people know which videos were made with the help of artificial intelligence.

TikTok also mentioned that the results go through several safety checks to catch and stop harmful or improper use.

However, a sample video has not yet been shared, so it remains to be seen how the feature will perform in real settings.
