Pakistan Railways has announced the launch of a new train service between Islamabad and Rawalpindi to facilitate daily passengers and improve travel convenience.

The decision was finalized during a high-level meeting held at Railways Headquarters in Lahore, chaired by Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also attended the session.

During the meeting, officials briefed the ministers on the overall security of railway operations, particularly in Balochistan. Measures to safeguard railway tracks and trains were reviewed.

The forum also approved a joint anti-encroachment campaign on railway land. For this purpose, the National Constabulary and Railways Police will collaborate, while the Interior Minister assured that Frontier Constabulary will extend full support.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the safety of railway lines and passengers remains the government’s top priority. He assured that no compromise will be made on security matters and lauded Pakistan Railways for its recent service improvements.

Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi expressed gratitude to the Interior Minister for his cooperation, particularly in supporting the anti-encroachment initiative. The meeting was also attended by Pakistan Railways CEO Amir Ali Baloch, IG Railways Police Rai Tahir, and other senior officials.
