The government has introduced new visa categories, expanded eligibility, and launched digital platforms to support work and residency.
Here are the latest UAE visa 2025 updates that are shaping the country’s residency landscape:
1. Crypto Investments Not Accepted for Golden Visa
The UAE confirmed that cryptocurrency investments are not valid for Golden Visa applications. This clarification followed false online claims suggesting that using platforms like The Open Network (TON) could grant residency. Authorities have warned applicants to rely only on official channels.
2. Golden Visa Now Available for Nurses
Dubai Health nurses with over 15 years of service can now apply for the 10-year Golden Visa. This move honors long-term healthcare workers and was announced on International Nurses Day under the direction of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed.
3. Gaming Professionals Get Golden Visa Eligibility
As part of the Dubai Gaming Programme 2033, e-sports and game developers aged 25 and above can now apply for the UAE Golden Visa, with support from Dubai Culture and Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism.
4. Digital Creators, Influencers Qualify for 10-Year Visa
Content creators, filmmakers, and influencers can now apply through Creators HQ for the Golden Visa. No local sponsor is required, and the process is fully online. This supports the UAE’s push to lead in digital media innovation.
5. ‘Salama’ AI System Simplifies Visa Process
Dubai’s immigration department launched Salama, an AI-powered system to handle visa applications, payments, and renewals. This reduces paperwork and speeds up processing for residents, workers, and businesses.
6. Visa-on-Arrival Extended for Indian Nationals
From February 2025, Indian citizens with valid visas or residency from countries like Canada, Japan, Australia, or South Korea can get a UAE visa on arrival. This builds on existing visa-on-arrival access for those with US, UK, or EU documents.
