Islamabad, July 14, 2025: After days of persistent complaints, the federal government has finalized a new version of the Pakistan Citizen Portal for Android users. The previous build had become nearly unusable due to repeated crashes, login failures, and complaint submission issues.

According to the Ministry of Information Technology, the updated Android app has already been submitted to the Google Play Store and is now awaiting approval. Until then, Android users may continue to face disruption, while iOS and web versions remain fully functional.

Thousands of users had voiced frustration, with many calling on the Prime Minister to intervene. The ministry clarified that the issues stemmed from an expired SSL certificate and code-level bugs, which affected secure connections and app performance.

“The problems were Android-specific and stemmed from internal certificate failures,” said an IT Ministry official. “The new version fixes these bugs and should restore full service after Google’s clearance.”
