Islamabad, 22 March 2025: Matt Henry has been ruled out of the ongoing T20I series against Pakistan as he continues his rehabilitation from a shoulder injury.
Despite being named in the squad for the fourth and fifth matches, Henry has not recovered fully and will focus on his recovery instead.
His absence has led to Zakary Foulkes, who was initially selected only for the first three games, being retained for the remainder of the series.
Foulkes impressed with figures of 1 for 11 in the opening match, followed by none for 32 in the second.
In another change, Kyle Jamieson, who delivered a match-winning performance in the first game with figures of 3 for 8 but struggled in the third match, conceding 54 runs without taking a wicket, has been omitted for the last two fixtures.
Will O’Rourke, originally part of the squad for the first three matches, has been recalled in Jamieson’s place.
Henry sustained a shoulder injury while fielding during the Champions Trophy semi-final against South Africa earlier this month, ruling him out of the final against India.
Additionally, he has been managing a knee issue that has affected his availability.
Among New Zealand’s fast bowlers, Jacob Duffy has played all three games and leads the wicket charts with seven dismissals.
James Neesham and Ben Sears have featured in two matches each, while spinners Ish Sodhi and captain Michael Bracewell have played all three encounters.
New Zealand currently leads the series 2-1. The fourth T20I is set to take place on Sunday in Mount Maunganui, followed by the final match on Wednesday in Wellington.
