Islamabad, June 20, 2025: In a major development for road infrastructure management, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has successfully auctioned 68 toll plazas across various key locations in Pakistan. The high-profile auction event was held at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad and drew a large crowd of investors and business stakeholders.

The bidding commenced at 10:30 a.m. and followed a fully transparent process, carried out under the special directives of Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan. The minister applauded the NHA team for organizing a smooth and efficient auction, aimed at creating equal and fair business opportunities for all participants.

To uphold transparency, the NHA invited national print and electronic media to monitor the proceedings. A comprehensive promotional campaign was also run prior to the event to attract widespread interest from potential bidders.

Toll plazas that went under the hammer were located in strategic areas such as Jamshoro, Saeedabad, Moro, Kandiaro, Ranipur, Sadiqabad, Bahawalpur, Khanewal, Kalashah Kaku, Gujranwala, Jehlum, Mandra, Karachi Northern Bypass, Nowshera, Mansehra, Hassanabdal, and the Makran Coastal Highway, among many others.

NHA officials stated that this public auction approach will lead to better revenue collection and transparent leasing of toll collection rights, ultimately enhancing the financial health of the national highway system.
