Islamabad, Jan 1: The National Highways Authority (NHA) has announced a significant increase in toll taxes for highways and motorways, effective from January 5, 2025, as part of efforts to meet its revenue targets. This hike marks the third increase in toll taxes this year and will impact several major routes across Pakistan.
Key Toll Hike Details:
- Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M1):
- Cars: Rs. 500 (up from Rs. 460)
- Wagons: Rs. 750 (up from Rs. 720)
- Buses: Rs. 1,450 (up from Rs. 1,300)
- Trucks: Rs. 2,300 (up from Rs. 1,950)
- National Highways:
- Cars: Rs. 60 (up from Rs. 50)
- Wagons: Rs. 100 (up from Rs. 90)
- Buses: Rs. 200 (up from Rs. 170)
- 2 and 3-axle trucks: Rs. 250
- Articulated trucks: Rs. 500 (up from Rs. 460)
- M-3 Motorway (Lahore to Abdul Hakeem):
- Cars: Rs. 700 (up from Rs. 650)
- M-4 Motorway (Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad and Multan):
- Cars: Rs. 950 (up from Rs. 850)
- M-5 Motorway (Sukkur to Multan):
- Cars: Rs. 1,100 (up from Rs. 1,050)
- M-14 Motorway (Dera Ismail Khan to Hakla):
- Cars: Rs. 600
The hikes also apply to tolls at key locations such as the Kohat Tunnel, Islamabad-Murree-Kohala Highway, and Mianwali Toll Plaza. These increases follow the toll tax hikes implemented in the past seven months, resulting in more than doubling of toll fees during this period.
