Islamabad, Sep 30: NHA Increases Toll Tax on Motorways and Highways Nationwide, the National Highways Authority (NHA) has proposed a significant hike in toll charges for cars using highways and motorways. The new rates will go into effect on October 1, 2024.
Cars using the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M1) would now pay a toll of Rs. 460 instead of Rs. 350 due to the changed prices. Buses will now be taxed Rs. 1,300 instead of Rs. 1,000, while wagons will now be fined Rs. 720, up from Rs. 550. The toll levy on trucks will increase from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 1,950.
A number of other important highways have also been subject to toll increases, such as the Mansehra Expressway, the D.I. Khan-Hakla Motorway (M14), the Multan-Sukkur Motorway (M5), the Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad-Multan Motorway (M4), and the Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway (M3).
Cars will now pay an additional Rs. 40 to Rs. 50 in toll on national highways; wagons will now pay Rs. 90, and buses will now pay Rs. 170. The tax for trucks with two or three axles would be Rs. 210, and the tax for articulated trucks will be Rs. 460.
Furthermore, commuters now have to pay increased fees everywhere they go, including the Kohat Tunnel (N55), the Islamabad-Murree-Kohala Highway (N75), and the Mianwali Toll Plaza (N135).
