Islamabad, Jan 31: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) in response to a petition seeking to halt the Central Superior Services (CSS) exam until the results of the previous year’s exam are announced.
The case was heard by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani on Thursday. The petition, filed by Hamza Javed and other applicants, raised concerns over the delay in the release of results for the CSS exam held in February 2024. The petitioners argued that although the exam results are typically announced within eight months, 11 months had passed without any updates from FPSC.
Despite the prolonged delay, the FPSC had scheduled a new CSS exam, further aggravating the petitioners who requested the court to stop the upcoming exam until the pending results from the previous year are officially declared.

The IHC has asked the FPSC to provide the relevant records in connection with the case and adjourned the hearing until Friday. The court will review the matter further to determine the next course of action.
The petitioners are advocating for a fair process, highlighting that the delay is unfair to candidates who are awaiting their results before they can take any further steps in their career planning.
