Islamabad, Feb 15: The National University of Technology (NUTECH) successfully concluded a specialized mining training program for engineers working on the Reko Diq project in Islamabad on February 14. This milestone marks a major step toward strengthening Pakistan’s mining sector by equipping local professionals with advanced technical skills.
Empowering Engineers from Balochistan
A total of 18 engineers from Balochistan completed the intensive training program, which was designed in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology. This initiative is the first-ever specialized mining course offered by Pakistan’s leading industrial university, setting a new standard for industry-relevant education.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Federal Secretary for Science and Technology, Sajid Baloch, reaffirmed the government’s dedication to investing in local talent. He highlighted the importance of skilled professionals in driving innovation and ensuring the long-term success of the mining sector.
“We are committed to nurturing future leaders in mining by empowering local professionals with world-class technical training,” Baloch stated.
