ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 12: From Nur West Well-1, Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has started producing tight gas on a commercial scale. Nur Development & Production Lease (D&PL), which is situated in Sindh Province’s District Sujawal, is wholly owned by OGDC.
Presently, the well draws gas from the Lower Guru formation (A’ Sand) at a wellhead flowing pressure of 1,050 PSI, producing 1.5 MMSCFD of gas. The infrastructure for the country’s gas supply has been strengthened as a result of the gas’s integration into the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) network.
The depth of the Nur West #01 well is 2,975 meters. The well encountered a tight formation, and traditional testing techniques produced unsatisfactory results. After that, hydraulic fracturing was used to make production viable.
The OGDC is reiterating its commitment to bolstering energy resources, securing the nation’s energy demands, and fostering sustainable development throughout Pakistan by implementing a tight gas exploration and development roadmap.
