Islamabad, July 7, 2025: In a major operational success, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has significantly ramped up production at Rajian-05 following the successful installation of an Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP).

The well, located in Chakwal District under the Gujar Khan Exploration License, has seen oil output surge to 3,100 barrels per day (BPD), up from just 820 BPD—a nearly fourfold increase. Gas production has also doubled, rising from 0.5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) to 1.0 MMSCFD.

The enhancement comes after a carefully planned workover and ESP deployment, part of OGDCL’s ongoing initiative to extract maximum value from its existing fields. The Rajian Field, fully owned and operated by OGDCL since its discovery in August 1994, continues to be a strategic asset in the company’s portfolio. With two earlier wells in the same field already using ESPs, the latest upgrade at Rajian-05 marks another milestone in the company’s redevelopment strategy.

This development not only strengthens OGDCL’s production capabilities but also reinforces its commitment to ensuring energy sustainability and national resource optimization. It reflects the company’s focus on data-driven field management to meet Pakistan’s growing energy demands.
