Islamabad, Aug 15: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has begun producing gas from a well known as Nur West Well-1 in the Sujawal region of Sindh.
According to specifics, this gas is derived from tight gas, a class of difficult-to-extract gas. Currently, 1.5 million cubic feet of gas per day are produced by the well. The Sui Southern Gas Company, which distributes gas throughout Pakistan, is getting more gas in its supply. Despite some initial difficulties, the well was drilled to a depth of almost three kilometers, and these were resolved by employing a technique known as hydraulic fracturing.
OGDCL is the project’s sole owner and is dedicated to investigating and exploiting Pakistan’s tight gas reserves in order to bolster the nation’s energy infrastructure. Positive findings from a different well in the Kohat district were also published, indicating the possibility of future increases in gas production.
